International singer-songwriter DIA was born in Toronto, Canada, to an Italian immigrant family. She grew up immersed in strong traditions that tie her to her roots.
DIA became the first Italian-Canadian woman to receive the prestigious and international Dean Martin Award in Montesilvano, Abruzzo for her outstanding work in the global arts community. While DIA enjoys considerable fame within the Italian-Canadian community, she has also gained international recognition among various cultural communities for her ability to sing in 32 languages! Additionally, she holds a master's degree in Ethnomusicology, showcasing her scholarly pursuits. DIA's impressive musical style and versatility allow her to excel in various genres, including live pop, jazz, and R&B. Her performances on stage are filled with vibrant energy and heartfelt emotion, captivating audiences.
In 2018, DIA released her debut EP titled "Desire," ( • Desire (Official Video) | DIA ) followed up with her juicy and fun summer single "Limonata", drawing inspiration from her time spent in Italy ( • LIMONATA | DIA Official Music Video ). DIA has graced the stages of major festivals around the world, including The PanAm Games, spanning across America, Europe, and Central and South America. She has also had the privilege of opening for renowned American artists such as Robin Thicke, Bob Saget, Jully Black, Karl Wolf, Italian stars Max Gazzè, I Pooh, I Cugini di Campagna, Bobby Solo, Riccardo Fogli, and Al Bano and international stars from Iran, Cuba and Turkey.
Notably, DIA has written and performed several songs for the soundtrack of Canadian, Italian, and Dutch feature film "Tulipani: Love Honour and a Bicycle," featuring Giancarlo Giannini, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
