Lesson 43: Cisco Packet Tracer: Connecting Branch Networks with GRE VPN Using Static Routes
We created a provider network in which traffic is routed using RIP. Several networks were connected to it. One network is for regular users. Three networks are for branch offices of a single organization. Another network is a network with public servers. We needed to prevent regular users from accessing computers located on the branch offices' networks. Branch computers could exchange traffic with each other, but the organization's traffic had to pass through the router of the main branch. In our case, Branch #1 is the main branch. Both user computers and computers from all branch offices had to have access to the servers.
So, we configured PAT and launched RIP on the provider's network. We created GRE tunnels. And within the tunnels, we enabled static routing. It was scary, but we did it.
