color constancy allows us to perceive colors no matter what kind of surface that color is on, or what kind of lighting that color is displayed in. sometimes, it can lead to weird things, like the notorious "blue-black / white-gold dress" that everybody talked about a few years ago. this video looks at how those illusions work and how important color constancy is for our everyday vision.
