After Carnage acquired the Darkhold, Claire Dixon, a former FBI agent, and her team personally hunted the monster. While infiltrating a ship Carnage had hijacked, Claire was captured and used as a test subject by Carnage. Claire fused with the latest spawn of the Carnage symbiote, calling herself Raze. She then attacked her comrades and tried to kill Toxin. Raze was presumed dead when the ship exploded. It turned out she had stowed away on the Anti-Carnage ship and appeared before Jubulile van Scotter. When she shook hands with Jubulile, their symbiotes resonated. Afterward, Raze followed her comrades to Chthonic Island, drawn to her. While reading a diary she found, Raze was attacked by a Chthon creature, but she killed it immediately. However, Claire ultimately awakened from the symbiote and sacrificed herself to save her comrades and pave the way for defeating Carnage, as atonement for the damage she caused when Raze possessed her.

While infiltrating the ship that Carnage had taken, Claire was captured and used as a test subject by Carnage. Claire merged with the latest offspring of the Carnage symbiote and called herself Raze. She then attacked her teammates and attempted to kill Toxin. Raze was presumed dead when the ship exploded. However, she had secretly sneaked onto the Anti-Carnage ship and appeared in front of Jubulile van Scotter. When she shook hands with Jubulile, their symbiotes resonated with each other. Afterward, Raze followed her teammates to Chthonic Island, intrigued by Jubulile. While reading a diary she found, Raze was attacked by Chthonic creatures, but she swiftly killed them. However, in the end, Claire regained control of the symbiote and sacrificed herself to save her teammates, ultimately paving the way to defeat Carnage, seeking redemption for the damage she had caused when Raze had possessed her.
