What is Electronics explained for Beginners | A Level Lesson
Firstly, I go through the basic definitions i.e
👉 Electronics which is the branch of physics concerned with the applications involving the control of electrons in a vacuum, gas and solids
👉Thermionic Emission which is the emission of electrons from a cold metal surface and demonstrated it using a basic circuit.
👉 Semiconductors which are classes of materials whose electrical conductivities are intermediate between those of metals and insulators.
Secondly, I talk about Energy Band in metals, Semiconductors and insulators demonstrating in each case
Thirdly, I talk of types of Semiconductors i.e
👉 Intrinsic semiconductors which are conductors that contain no impurity atom with an explanation of how it conducts electricity
👉Extrinsic semiconductors which are conductors that contain impurity atom i.e P-type and N-type semiconductors
Fourthly, I talk about the P-N junction and how it is formed with diagrams..
Then, I talk of the different ways in which a junction diode can be connected
Finally, I talk briefly about Diodes, Light Emmiting Diode (LED) and Transistors.
