Baltimore Saved the Nike Air Force 1
Did you know Baltimore is responsible for saving the Air Force 1? Many people confuse saving the AF1 with "exclusively making the AF1 hot/popular." However, the fact is Nike was ready to pull the plug on the AF1 but mom & pop sneaker shop owners in Baltimore convinced Nike to keep the 1982 classic shoe designed by Bruce Kilgore in production and the rest is history!
People often credit Nelly and New York for the success of the AF1, but if Nike ended production in the 1980s, neither Nelly, NYC, Chicago, Philly, etc. would've had the chance to make the shoe what it is today. If you love the AF1, give thanks to Baltimore, MD.
