In this quick video, I demonstrate how to improve posture (2 postural & overhead mobility exercises) you can do anywhere! Both positions are moving the arms from a goalpost to an overhead position focusing on strengthening the middle back muscles. If you are looking for a posture fix, back extension and focusing on middle back engagement is part of the solution. Both of these exercises can also be incorporated as shoulder mobility drills you do before your upper body workout.

Prone Goalpost Reach: Face down tuck hips into the ground and lift upper chest and arms in a goalpost position. Tuck your chin and use your middle back as you reach the arms straight overhead. Maintain the prone back extension without overarching your lower back. Perform reps until your form fails.

Seated Wall Press: Sit close to a wall and connect the back of your head, shoulders, upper back, tailbone (lower back), elbows, and wrists to the wall in a goalpost position. Lift the arms straight overhead and actively press into the wall surface. Perform reps until your form fails.

Both of these movements are active shoulder mobility exercises. For improving shoulder mobility, make sure you start slow and only go to your ability. You can use either of these as part of your active mobility (warm-up) for overhead press adding mobility to your upper body before you lift weights.
