Adding a short reverb to your vocal track and give it just a touch of presence that will help it sit up front, but still blend into the mix. This isn't a complicated technique, but it can be the missing ingredient for your mix that takes it up a notch. Nothing fancy, just a stock reverb on a side-chain channel is all that you need. I'm doing this in Pro Tools, but you can do this with any DAW. Give it a shot and let me know how it works out for you.
