James McAvoy is HUGE for Speak No Evil
James McAvoy says he was the biggest he’s ever been, while filming a movie called Speak No Evil, which is impressive considering how good he looked in Glass as The Beast.
He said the movie was well timed, as he’d been consistently working out for a couple of years and eating lots of good when was offered the role, which really fit the physicality of the character.
This gave James a physical and psychologically intimidating presence in the movie.
James says having the extra size helped him play the part, but sometimes he had to disguise how big he was. The idea was to look smaller, softer and non-threatening at the start of the movie. But later, he reduced his carb intake for a leaner look, and would pump up his shoulders and arms before takes to look as big an intimidating as possible.
