These are fairly straight forward with a on and off light switch as well as fan speed control buttons. This particular model can set the fan to high, medium, low and off in terms of speed. This would be the equivalent of pulling the chain cord to adjust the speed of the fan blades. This particular model came with a mount for placing onto a light switch cover since it can serve as an on/off lighting switch as well. As shown in the video, the unit takes a 9-volt battery and can be switched to different frequencies with the 4 dip switches in the unit.
The great thing about the remote control kits is that they can be installed in almost any fan system because the universal way they're connected to the ceiling fan in between the power lines and the fan unit.
