In this tutorial, you will learn how to create an object destruction and reform animation using tyFlow, tySplines, and V-Ray 6 in 3ds Max. We begin by building a particle setup to fracture geometry into smaller fragments, animating forces to drive the pieces outward, and using target/recall operators to pull them seamlessly back to their original rest positions.

After setting up the particle dynamics, we generate dynamic motion trails following particle trajectories using tySplines. Finally, we configure V-Ray materials and use VRayDistanceTex nodes to procedurally alter material properties and light effects based on particle proximity.

𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨, 𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐨 𝐔𝐬𝐞:
✅ tyFlow Particle Setup: Fracturing geometry into discrete pieces and controlling particle velocity
✅ Outward Force & Target Recall: Animating fragments to explode outward and reform back to their rest mesh
✅ tySplines Motion Trails: Generating dynamic, renderable trailing splines along particle paths
✅ V-Ray Shading & Materials: Building render setups for complex particle animations
✅ VRayDistanceTex Effects: Driving dynamic material transitions and emissions based on particle proximity

I am using 3ds Max, tyFlow, and V-Ray for this demonstration, and these procedural particle and shading concepts apply across older and newer V-Ray versions.
