A couple of months ago I saw a post on Reddit that someone had Vulkan working on the PinePhone Pro. That got me thinking that it should also work on the Pinebook Pro, as they both use the Rockhip RK3399.

You have to add the following line to /etc/environment
PAN_I_WANT_A_BROKEN_VULKAN_DRIVER=1
And reboot.

So I tested with Manjaro and you have to be on Wayland.
Here is a video to get Wayland working:    • Pinebook Pro Manjaro activate Wayland

I have the following Vulkan packages installed:
vulkan-headers
vulkan-icd-loader
vulkan-mesa-layers
vulkan-panfrost
vulkan-tools

Update: You can also install vulkan-swrast

And the vkcube demo only works for me when I run the Wayland version: vkcube-wayland

Looks like my camera has a problem focussing on a black screen.
Sorry for the blur.
