Eoghan Daltun is an author, conservator of sculpture and an environmental campaigner. He is based near Eyeries in the Beara Peninsula, Co. Cork, Ireland. Daltun is a pioneer in a rewilding movement that seeks to restore native forests that once blanketed 80% of Ireland and now cover just 1%, one of the lowest rates in Europe. In 2022 he published his book An Irish Atlantic Rainforest: a personal journey into the magic of rewilding and this September he launched his newest book The Magic of an Irish Rainforest: a visual journey which will be part of the topic of this discussion. In this video, he spoke in Gael-Ionad Mhic Goill as part of Féile na Carraige 2024. The discussion was hosted by local environmental, housing and human rights campaigner Leasha Hogan.
