Low pressure plastic moulding is a service we offer at Trimantec that gives your electronics and cable assemblies a protective cover.
This process is also known as overmoulding or overmolding. If your custom assembly will be subjected to dust, dirt, or moisture, then low pressure plastic moulding is a must-have.
Fragile solder joints on electronics are often damaged by the high temperatures used in high pressure overmolding. However, this is not a concern with low pressure plastic moulding.
The materials used in this process (polyamide and polyolefin) have a much more reasonable melting point for use with delicate cables and circuit boards. Additionally, with cycle times of 20 – 45 seconds your overmolded parts will be completed in no time!
