BOMBILLAZ - DIE WOCHE
Bombillaze äge ja emotsionaalne ska-rock töötlus legendaarse Eesti punkansambli Propelleri laulust "Die Woche". Selle, omal ajal (80-date alguses) ülimalt tähendusliku laulu sõnum on just tänapäeva pandeemiaga seotud kriisiolukorras taas teravalt päevakorda tõusnud. Räägitakse, et just selle laulu esitamine Kadrioru staadionil, aastal 1980 lõi esimese naela tollase Eesti Kommunistliku Partei kirstu ja lõi Maarjamaa noortele visiooni vabast maailmast. "Aga õnneks oleme siin koos teiega meie, ansambel Propeller, kes on teile teejuhiks!" "Järgnege meile, armas rahvas ja me viime teid läbi punase mere üles mägedesse, kus põlevad lõkked ja elavad õnnelikud inimesed!" Just nii kuulutab loo viisi ja sõnade autor, võrratu Peeter Volkonski ja seda üleskutset tuletab just nüüd ja praegu teile taas meelde ansambel Bombillaz! Arranžeerimisel osalesid Kill (KillBaba) Kaare, Arno Kalbus, Kadi Uibo, Kristjan Jõemägi, Hain Hoppe, Tanel Liiberg, Tõnis Leemets ja Arto Moisala. The 1st of April is April Fool’s day. For this special day, the Estonian band Bombillaz has released a video single called “Die Woche” - our speedy and emotional ska-rock cover of this famous song by the legendary punkband Propeller. History tells that Propeller performing this song on the 22nd of September, 1980 at Kadrioru Staadion, was the first nail in the coffin for the Estonian Communist Party and the totalitarian regime. It reignited the dream of freedom for the youth in attendance and resulted in widespread rioting. The meaning of this song, in the beginning of the 80’s when the original version was released, has resurfaced as an important topic yet again. “Die Woche” was written as a protest against then popular disco music, which was viewed as shallow and vain. These very same tendencies can be seen today, where popular media has once again been conquered by music, that can only be described as shallow and vain. And that is exactly the reason why it’s the perfect time to resurrect a legendary piece of Estonian rock history!

“Follow us, dear people and we will take you through the Red Sea and on top of the mountains, where fires are burning and where the happy people live!” - as preached by the author of the text and music, the living legend, one and only Peete Volkonski. And that very same truth is being reminded to you once more, dear people, by Bombillaz!
