I am here to talk about tipping in Las Vegas, who to tip and how much.
1. Bell Hop – they bring your luggage to your room. Typically, it’s $1-$5 per bag, but you can tip more if they are going above and beyond.
2. Casino Hosts – if you gamble a lot, you probably have a casino host, and they can do a lot for you, like comp tickets to shows, rooms, restaurants, and events. If they do a lot for you, anywhere from $100-$500 is warranted.
3. Cocktail Servers/Bartenders/Bussers/Waiters – the majority of these folks live off their tips. A lot of venues auto grat 15-20%, so even though they are getting their tips, they will hustle for more. If they did an exceptional job, consider tipping an additional 5-10%.
4. Front Desk – with tip in hand, the front desk staff might get you an upgrade or a discount on a better room if the hotel is not sold out.
5. Housekeeping – up to you. If you tear up the room, consider leaving a nice tip – $5-$20 will be appreciated.
6. Limo / Party Bus Drivers – the drivers who bring you to the strip clubs are paid a small hourly wage but actually live off their tips. Keep $5-$10 handy.
7. Restroom Attendants – some of the attendants have worked in the restrooms for years. I always tip these guys; a $2-$3 tip is good each time you go in.
8. Rideshare/Taxis/Shuttles – even though most of the rideshare apps have a way for you to tip or on your credit card if you take a taxi, you can always tip more if you have a little extra money handy. They work hard and pay a lot for insurance and gas.
9. Room Service – most hotel room service departments add on gratuity automatically, but check your bill to make sure, and maybe consider leaving a little extra if they did a great job. If there is no tip on the bill, leave a 15-20% tip.
10. Table Dealers – they get paid a nice hourly rate, but if I’m winning, I tip anywhere from $5-$20, depending on how much I win, and if I’m losing, then I typically don’t tip.
11. Valet – when the hotels went to paid valet parking, the valet staff got screwed, and now barely anyone tips or at least not as much. These guys work hard and are struggling. Keep a $5 bill handy.
12. VIP Hosts –VIP Host I have the privilege of receiving generous tips from my customers. However, I do not solicit or anticipate these gratuities. When I do receive them, I am genuinely grateful for the recognition of my hard work and efforts.
