Birgus Smart Diffuser - Unboxing and Test
So I know you're all thinking the same thing that I was right? How is this a thing? Well... yep there are smart diffusers out there. They connect to wifi and your Google Home or Amazon Echo's.
If you don't know what an oil diffuser is, it is a device that you use to fill a room with an aroma or scent. You fill it with water and a few drops of essential oils. They usually stay on for a few hours and work very well. You can buy essential oils from just about anywhere - even Amazon and you can usually find a set with a few scents.
The Birgus Smart Diffuser is an oil diffuser with a changing light. It has 2 modes: small and large (for the amount of steam it lets out). It comes in 2 colors: white and pink. It is a smart diffuser and offers voice commands when connected to an Amazon Echo device or Google Home device. However it needs to be set up in the Birgus app first before this functionality can be used.
I would love to give a glowing review of the Birgus Smart Diffuser, but unfortunately, it's selling point - that it's a SMART diffuser did not even work for me. I followed the instructions as they laid it out: Download the app, create an account, put the device in pairing mode, be on a 2.4Ghz network and try pairing with the app... and well it did not work. I attempted the troubleshooting steps: unplug the device, try another wifi network, press the pairing button only 1 time.. and still nothing.
The other functions of the diffuser: the light and the diffuser itself work great. It has beautiful colors and worked fast when emitting the scent in the room.
I am going to contact their support and find out what can be done, there were quite a few bad reviews on the app - some of which were for pairing problems. After I hear from support I will follow up on this.
