Quilt of Valor - a Custom Project, with Ruler Work, Borders, and More!
Today I'm using several free motion quilting techniques on a very special Quilts of Valor quilt. In case you're not familiar with Quilts of Valor, here's a quote from their website:
A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war.

In honor of the 4th of July, this week’s project is a stunning Quilt of Valor (intended for a very special wounded veteran)
Topics will include:
using BLACK batting
loading the quilt sideways, and WHY
free motion quilting around the eagle and other features
various borders
some ruler work
and likely some unknowns; we'll see what arises as we go!
