As we age, immune cell-generating stem cell populations can become dysregulated, shifting the balance of the types of immune cells that are produced and contributing to reduced adaptive immune function & increased inflammation. This team from Irving Weissman's lab at Stanford sought to restore the balance by depleting dysregulated stem cells, or "my-HSCs". The results in mice are pretty striking!
