I did not stop development of this project!
It's quite the opposite!
After a certain point in development (the point where I tried to fit 100 sprites/monsters in the screen at once), the method I was using to display the images proved to be lacking.
For those, that are programmers like me, you can probably guess that my rendering method uses the Android Canvas SurfaceView, and not the OpenGL ES SurfaceView.
Thus, I am going to port over what I have so far from Canvas to OpenGL ES.
This is necessary since this my game is action-based and my target minimum API level is 8 which does not yet support hardware acceleration (canvas does not use GPU, whereas OpenGL does).
This might take a month or two since I am new to OpenGL. I'll be using the Libgdx library to make my life a little easier.
