The ballerina who enchanted thousands of spectators in Brazil and abroad is facing the biggest challenge of her life: recovering her movements after being diagnosed with a rare disease.
Marina Abib who dances with all her power and commitment, was recently diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, which caused reactions, severely impairing her motor skills.
Autoimmune encephalitis is an inflammation of that brain that arises when the immune system attacks its own cells themselves, impairing their functioning and causing various symptoms.
In the face of the challenge, there are great chances of recovery of movements. Despite being a delicate health condition, the doctors say that if the rehabilitation protocols are followed, the cure becomes possible. For this to happen, she will need a series of medicines, physiotherapy, speech therapy, therapy, in addition to regular monitoring by a neurologist, among other professionals.
Without this medical protocol, the recovery of basic motor skills and the dream of returning to the stage becomes more difficult to happen.
From the diagnosis until today, everything that Marina went through and will still need is very expensive. Family and friends have made every possible effort to cover the costs of treatment, but the situation has reached a point where without the help of others this journey will be even more difficult.
