Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, M83
Journey across 15 million light-years to M83, the Southern Pinwheel galaxy. The Hubble Space Telescope shows us the galaxy’s spiral arms bursting with star formation. The youngest regions are highlighted by glowing pink hydrogen gas, while hundreds of thousands of individual stars burn bright blue.
