Emerson School recently held its second annual autism walk, involving 303 students, including 65 autistic students from seven specialized classrooms. This event, supported by Courtesy Chevrolet, highlights the school's efforts to foster communication through innovative tools like communication boards and iPads with TouchChat software. The walk featured seven interactive stations designed to enhance understanding of neurodiversity and expressive capabilities. With the goal of raising $10,000, the school organized t-shirt sales, with a winning design by an autistic student, to fund additional iPads and software licenses. Emerson School's commitment to inclusivity and community involvement is exemplified by this inspiring event. Learn more about Emerson School by visiting https://www.phxschools.org/emerson/about
