We’re about the explore the biggest and most expensive Supreme collection in the world!
We all know that Supreme, as a brand, has come a long long way since it first started out as an underground streetwear brand in New York City in the year 1994. Due to its brilliant marketing strategy, Supreme has been able to sell ordinary products at 4 to 5 times its retail value. The competition among buyers to buy Supreme products is extremely tight and as soon as the brand launches a new product the buyers rush to own them. The buyers have to wait for hours in a line to enter the Supreme store on the day of the launch of a product. So, it is very hard to purchase a Supreme item firsthand from the shop itself. This has enabled the Supreme collectors to make huge profits by reselling the Supreme items. Mike is one such lucky fellow who has been able to amass a huge Supreme collection.
Mike, who is the owner of the most expensive Supreme collection right now is also the owner of an insanely big store in the USA. In fact, it is the biggest Supreme resell store in whole of America. But let us save his biggest store collection exploration for another video and for this video we are going to limit ourselves to his personal Supreme collection.
So, the big question is how did Mike start out with this. According to Mike, in his earlier teenage years, he was very much fascinated by the whole streetwear culture which existed in those days. Brands like Nike SB, Karmaloop, Ecko Unltd., The Hundreds, Stussy and Adidas X Burton were some of the earliest streetwear names that he was introduced to in his teenage years. The first Supreme item that Mike ever possessed was a hat which his parents brought in from New York, but the strange part is that Mike wasn’t even mildly excited by that Supreme hat because he did not believe that it was something special and exclusive. I would surely have fainted from excessive joy if my parents ever bought a Supreme item for me! Anyways, after Mike got hold of a lot of The Hundreds and Stussy items, he decided to hoard some Supremes. So, in the year 2013, he went to the #SupremeForSale on the internet and found a sticker set of 5 with the iconic Supreme Box logo on each one of it, and purchased it from his friend Yukio Takahashi, who himself is a great Supreme collector, for approximately 80 Bucks. You know somebody is a Supreme nerd when they happily part with 80 dollars just for a sticker! But it was also a very smart purchase because, according to Mike, the stickers are worth around $100 each! So, those colorful stickers were the initial bricks towards the building of a big Supreme collection. More on bricks later in this video!
Most people are only familiar with, or have seen, Supreme products with the iconic box logos. But Mike has some of the rarest and OG Supreme products like a black Supreme X NY rip leather jacket without the box logo, some rare Supreme X Louis Vuitton rip beanies which can sell for around $300 to $400 each, some OG Supreme X Louis Vuitton rip bucket hats which can sell for a price as high as $800 each, some Elephant print dunks from 2002 which are estimated to sell for around $300 each; bonus information: the elephant print dunks do not fit in his head!
