13 Sentinels: Android Romance (Review)
13 Sentinels is anime bs and anime beauty. It's what I like to call a visual "novelty." Vanillaware made a game that was anything but vanilla. In this video, I explore what 13 Sentinels does to affirm anime and to innovate upon non-linear video game narratives. I will contrast the game a bit with NieR: Automata also to show why I think pure anime with tonal whiplash is more effective than the super-serious.
