🥧 This new piece is called “Today is a Good Day for Pi(e).
.
🎵 The mathematical constant Pi (3.14159) is converted into a motif by playing these numbers as intervals against the chord. As a melodic device it looks like this…
3rd R 4th R 5th 9th
💡 This Pi motif runs through the entire piece, but I play with the 8ve a bit here and there (playing 2 in place of 9 since they’re the same note).
.
🍋 Technique-wise, this one is great for working on alternate picking as well as position shifting. This take is not exactly where I want it performance-wise, but too late now; it’s high time for Pi(e) time!

🙏 Today I am grateful for many things, including being a part of a great community of musicians and artists on YouTube. It’s a pleasure getting to meet people, be inspired by their art, and to share my art with you. Thank you!
.
I’m going to get a little practice in, then it’s back to being a sous pie chef for my wife. Keep shredding and woodshedding!
