This lick uses Extended 7th Arpeggios, which means to build a diatonic 7th Arpeggio on each chord degree of a chord.

Cm is C Eb G Bb, so we build 7th chords from the scale starting on each of those notes. We end up with…

(R) Cm - C Eb G Bb
(3) Ebmaj7 - Eb G Bb D
(5) Gm7 - G Bb D F
(7) Bbmaj7 - Bb D F A

Next, take a standard 5th string 7th arpeggio, and skip strings 4 and 2, and that’s how you get these cool, modern-sounding arpeggios.

I also threw in some Rusty Cooley-inspired X-style arpeggios for fun.

Let me know if you have questions. I’m happy to talk theory, technique, concepts, whatever.

Keep shredding and woodshedding!
