The biceps brachii, or biceps, is located on the front of the shoulder. It flexes the arm at the elbow and, to some extent, provides outward rotation of the forearm (supination). In addition, the biceps brachii plays an important role in stabilizing the shoulder joint, i.e. it prevents dislocations. The muscle consists of two heads, which are attached to the scapula at the top by two separate tendons, and at the bottom the muscle is attached to the radius by a single tendon (distal tendon).
