How to fix gibberish characters in a URL? Does your link have weird symbols like %20? It's because your URL contains non-alphanumeric characters. The URL will then be automatically encoded to avoid misunderstanding caused by special characters that might have a special meaning. %20 means a space character. This encoding method is known as Percent-Encoding or URL Encoding (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL_encoding).
