Crane static tests are conducted under load of 125% of the rated capacity of the crane.

Bridge crane static tests procedure:
The crane is positioned above the crane track supports, and its truck - in the position corresponding to the maximum deflection of the crane bridge. Test load is lifted by the crane to a height of 100-200 mm and held in this position for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes the load is lowered, and then the crane bridge is verified for absence of permanent residual deformation. If such deformation has been detected, as the result of the crane load testing, the crane must not be put into service until the reasons of the deflection are found and the possibility of further crane operation is determined.
Crane deemed to pass the static tests, if within 10 min the lifted load does not lower to the ground, and no cracks, permanent residual deformation or other damages of metal structures and mechanisms has been found.
Crane dynamic tests are conducted under load of 110% of the rated capacity of the crane. It is aimed at functionality testing of crane mechanisms and brakes.
During crane dynamic tests multiple lifting and lowering of cargo are performed (at least three times), as well as operational check of all other mechanisms during the designated combined motions stipulated in crane operation manual.
To carry out static and dynamic tests, the crane owner has to provide a set of test loads with their actual weight specified.
