Grew up in apartheid South Africa but lucky enough to live in Australia now.
Jacaranda, Agapantha, Kookaburra sits in the old oak tree
Wisteria on the verandah, blooming crazy, summers here
And I'm living in the Lucky Country
Under a high southern sky
Living in the Lucky Country
Gonna live here till I die
Daddy was a railway man,
You know he kept them steam trains on the track
Mama did the laundry
And the ironing was done by a black
And we lived in the house
With pretty flowers in the garden
Grew up in a land
Where hearts were taught to harden
But now I'm living in the Lucky Country ...
Now I got a beautiful boy
And a beautiful little girl
I got a beautiful wife
Whose strong and warm
And at night I sleep
With the windows open wide
With a feeling deep inside of me
That everything is gonna be just fine.
Living in the Lucky Country
Under a blue southern sky
Living in the Lucky Country
Gonna live here till I die x3
And that's alright.
