Why We Use a Trace Paper Sketchbook
In this video I review the Trace Sketchbook by 30x40 Design Workshop. I illustrate how the sketchbook can be used to both explore different views of a design and test variations of that design. The translucency of the 93# Vellum allows for ample visibility between pages, while the 1/4" Dot grid provides a consistent reference.
I show how the sketchbook lends itself well to the early phase of the design process, in this case, a planned urban development.
