Did your family use the dishwasher to store dishes?
The first modern dishwasher was actually invented in the 1920s.
However, if you grew up in an immigrant family, the dishwasher was a kitchen appliance that was probably never used for its intended purpose.
In my family, we simply used it as a drying rack after hand-washing all of our dishes!
It wasn’t until I had my own place and my own dishwasher that I learned how much time can be saved by using the dishwasher.
Most modern dishwashers don’t even need you to pre-rinse any more!
Simply scrape off any large, leftover food, load the dishwasher, put in the detergent, and press start.
There is even an option to dry your dishes after they get washed!
As a busy dad, this wonderful device allows me to save precious time everyday after meals.
That time saved can be spent on the things I really care about!
