US CDV 720 Beta/Gamma Radiation Detector
US CDV 720 Beta/Gamma Radiation Detector, this is an ionisation chamber similar to the US CD V-715 Ionisation chamber but has a thinner bottom for allowing in beta radiation with a ratcheting case, however it lacks the 0.1X multiplier (0-500mR/H) that the 715 has meaning it requires more radiation to move the needle.
This is quite a cool device but sadly doesn't seem to work that well, at least my one, Putting Sr-90 roughly 2mSv/228mR/h as well as radium dust under the beta window which should move the needle but doesn't seem to register much, this could be due to the beta window being too thick or the device not working properly, still a cool piece of cold war history.
