We visited Belfast, the day after a terrible riot broke out. When arriving to the bus station, the hostility was still present. The disarray of huge banners, different national flags and various pamphlets upon the street corners, encouraged us to wonder if we made a wise decision, of visiting this special city initially.

In Belfast, we found many beautiful locations, despite the radio programs again and again reminded both of us what happened recently. The liturgical songs from a nearby catholic cathedrals gave us a sense of serenity, whilst all the wall paintings made us feel really scared. The idea of being loyal to their Gaelic past was much stronger in the catholic districts, than in most cities in Ireland republic. The fervent admiration towards the Union Jack, made us wondering, whether Mr Ceaușescu ever enjoyed more adorations in the seventies.
