Bazel is a powerful tool for building software on Linux, but what if it were just as capable on Windows? In this talk, we'll discuss the original effort to port Bazel to Windows, working around differences between Linux and Windows in the file system, process management, and more. We'll highlight challenges overcome to support remote execution on Windows on both clients and servers. We'll also cover Windows Containers, a new technology that lets Windows natively execute Docker containers for remote build isolation.

Speakers: László Csomor, Jay Conrod
