This isn't very good. But it's very good.
1:19-1:30 is right about where I think I started nailing something I liked. Totally blown out, but something was happening with the texture that really floored me.
Some footage of my brothers- actually I think it was the first time Nathan ever got to go wake boarding.
I edited this footage on the very first computer I ever built with the very first camera I ever owned at a time when I had no idea that I could make a living doing what lit me on fire. It was an early version of Premiere pro that got me to look into the video filters tab and find the channel mixer and start recomposing my miniDV signal into something I felt resembled 16mm film. It's way off I know. But it represents something to me that I can never forget. Coloring my footage was the biggest breakthrough I ever had. It changed everything. It's what I do for a living now and watching this it blows my mind. I wish I could reach back in time and give myself some encouragement.
If you're young, and there's things that light you on fire, pay attention. That can be your future. Glad I stumbled across something that could shape mine.
