I TRANSFORMED my VOICE doing this!
This feels like a secret vocal hack that I'm sharing, but in reality it's been around for quite a while (and some of you are/have already been doing this!).
What is it?
Vocalising or phonating through a straw. That's pretty much it. You can use a straw and put it in water so you blow bubbles to check if your breath is consistent and to provide some additional resistance/pressure, but you don't need to.
I ended up using the small 'coffee stirrer' straws as suggested by Ingo Titze and Elizabeth Zharoff (from the Charistmatic Voice) and they have helped me tremendously - I'm looking forward to hearing your results if you give the vocal challenge in the video a go too!
