MGM Sing Alongs Being Happy Closing Credits
This is the last of the 4 pieces of closing credits from MGM Sing Alongs: (See Title for Episode Name). I apologize in advance for some audio jumps towards the end, this cassette has seen better days. Here are this episode's highlights:
There's a connection between Charles Strouse (Let's Make Music Together) and Tim Curry (God of villian voice-overs as credited in "Don't Make Me Laugh"). The song "Easy Street" from 1982's Annie was co-written by Strouse for the musical and co-sung by Curry in the film we all know and love.
Some "Family Guy" fans like myself were introduced to "Me Ol' Bamboo" by this cassette. Those who heard the show's song parody know what I'm talking about.
Unlike in "The Sound of Music", Christopher Plummer's real singing voice can be heard in "A Crooked Man". "SoM"'s producers should've allowed Plummer's real singing to stay in the final cut.
There's a rumour that Toby Bluth ("Toyland" and "Dream") is related to "The Secret of Nimh" director, Don Bluth. I don't know if that's true.
-You might remember Jonathan Dern and Paul Sabella (the show's executive producers) for 1. Mandating a lot of last-minute major changes for "The Pebble and the Penguin" which pissed Don Bluth off and 2. Greenlighting the infamous "Secret of Nimh 2: Timmy to the Rescue". Help me, Lord!
