VA panel/monitor dark/black level smearing example in Red Dead Redemption 2
IMPORTANT!
What helps with this is increasing setting called "black level" which basically decreases the depths of blacks. While this takes away from the advantage of VA panel it makes it a lot less noticable.

Monitor: Xiaomi Mi Curved 34'' 3440x1440 144hz VA.
This happens when there are lightly lit pixels next to the dark pixels.
Response time on darkly lit pixels is too slow to keep up with the movement and then it does this flickering like "effect".
This is not an issue during daytime or areas that are mostly just dark. But It always happens when there is a light color next to black.
In this case. It's white snow in a grass which is black during night time.
Update:
I sold the monitor in summer of 2022 and bought LG GP850 (IPS). Switching back to 16:9 definitely felt like a downgrade in games, but overall I'm much happier with it. It feels like It's better at absolutely everything except aspect ratio.
