A 4,000 year old Egyptian statue at Manchester Museum started spinning on its own inside a sealed glass case. No one touched it. No one moved it. And yet every morning it had turned to face a different direction.

This short documentary investigates the mystery, featuring Dr. Campbell Price, Curator of Egypt and Sudan at Manchester Museum, and a cinematic 3D recreation of the Neb-Senu statue built in Blender to bring the artifact to life on screen.

This film was originally produced as my final project while studying MA Television Production at the University of Chester, UK. It was later selected and commissioned by the university, making it one of my earliest factual storytelling experiences.

What this film covers:
The Mystery: Real security camera time-lapse footage showing the statue rotating during the day and stopping completely at night.

The Artifact: A cinematic 3D recreation of the Neb-Senu statue with hieroglyphs translated on screen, featuring a prayer to the god Osiris asking for bread, beer and beef.

The Science: Expert explanation from Dr. Campbell Price debunking the curse myth and revealing the real cause, differential friction from traffic vibrations on Oxford Road outside the museum.

The Proof: Definitive time-lapse evidence showing the statue moves only when foot traffic and road vibrations are at their highest.
