I'm Matt Brown. I'm vice president of engineering for Global Medical Education at Elsevier.
I've been working with NIX since around 2008. We've set many objectives for them on different kinds of projects. Some of the main ones have been our mobile projects and also some mission-critical projects for a lot of our customers.
NIX's performance so far has been totally great. We delivered on time and budget, and they integrated with our staff and our squads. They are also very surprising in their ability to integrate into cross-vendor teams. One of the biggest things they've done for us is that they're not only doing development and QA but also project management, product management, and business analyst work in all phases of projects.
I think one of the biggest strengths of the NIX team that we really appreciate is their willingness to push back. I have experience dealing with a lot of vendors who are really looking to please you and to do anything you say, but NIX will please you by often engaging you in intelligent conversation, asking hard questions, and asking what the real problem we're trying to solve is. And I think that adds a ton of value because it reveals some of the things that you might not have thought of, and you end up with a much better result.
We pulled NIX into a project that was really far behind schedule and really way over budget. They got up to speed quickly, and we were able to work with them, and they were able to work with us, to really organize the team, organize the sprints, and get the project done on time and bring it in under budget.
