I share my experience from a previous attempt where my voice sounded like it had just emerged from a crypt, which led me to create this video as a second take for clarity and engagement. We explore why you can't create filtered indexes on computed columns or indexed views, and how using an indexed view with the filter expression incorporated in its definition can help achieve our desired outcome. I also discuss the practical implications of these limitations, particularly for standard edition users, and highlight the importance of including the 'NOEXPAND' hint to ensure that SQL Server uses the index view efficiently.
