Fat Shark 5G8 Diversity Module Testing
Final satisfactory testing of beta 5G8 diversity module for module based headsets. Fast switching diversity selects best RF signal from dual antenna inputs. When used with a directional and omni antennae, it combines the benefit of better range and less breakup of the directional with the 360 coverage of the omni. By using an antenna switch and comparing sync pulse quality of the each antenna source, the module can match the performance of RRSI based dual RX solutions but at a lower price point and half the power consumption.
