What is Reflectance?
Reflectance is simply a measurement of the percentage of incoming or incident energy that a surface reflects. Reflectance is a fixed characteristic of an object. Surface features can be distinguished by comparing the reflectance of different objects at each wavelength. Unique objects reflect differently, while similar objects only reflect differently if there has been a physical or chemical change.
DN value is meaningless If you intend to interpret the image in terms of some physically meaningful, quantitative value, in such case you have to convert the image into radiance or reflectance.
