BERSERK Rant: How to Kill a Masterpiece | Some European Chick
Berserk is my favorite manga of all time. The love of my life, if you will. But just as much as I am captivated by its masterful points that many critics, essayists, fans or Youtubers have already talked about extensively (and I agree with them), I have my issues with it. I don't see much criticism of it online, and taking into account that Berserk has one of the most loyal fanbases that is willing to dismiss any bad word about it as simple hate or lack of intellect, I do not expect the response to be kind. My own words, uttered without a script, are not kind, either. Nonetheless, I always encourage an open mind towards differing opinions, so my own is included. Let's all remember that, at the end of the day, this is just discussing a picture book, and not insulting your mother or voting your human rights away.
All my rants from various places on the internet are being put together into one playlist that will expand whenever another rant in another livestream happens. There is no chronology, structure or coherence between the episodes - and sometimes even within the episodes, since Berserk was never the focus of the discussion but used as an example to underline a point about another work.
