Rachel Backpack is a light and soft, but sturdy backpack made with two different fabrics, sandwiched with rubber foam on most parts. Rachel backpack features a practical and decorative front pocket with a front zipper and a side gusset to make more room inside the pocket. Two side pockets can carry bottles of water, soda or iced tea, even a slim thermos with coffee.
Padded shoulder straps makes carrying the backpack easy and comfortable. The shoulder straps are adjustable. Rachel Backpack opens up along the entire top with a long zipper with two zipper pulls. The wide side gusset makes the inside of the Rachel Backpack spacious. The backpack is made with binding that covers all raw edges.
You can use one or two different fabrics, or a whole collection of fabrics to make it a patchwork backpack. The bindings can be made of the main fabric, the lining fabric or a contrasting fabric. You can use cotton and outdoor fabrics. This bag can be washed by hand. There is 1/4 inch rubber foam between the main fabric and the lining, which makes the backpack sturdy, yet soft to the touch. Rachel Backpack is surprisingly easy to make and can be made by someone who have some experience in bag making. The decorative front pocket with a zipper gives a lot of room inside the pocket so you can easily access things when you need them. Rachel backpack is perfect for hiking on shorter trips, beach walking and day trips. You can even use it as an overnight bag.
