How To Turn Off Car Play When Plugged In (Disable Car Play When Your Phone Is Plugged In). In this video tutorial I will show you how to turn off car play when plugged in.
Here's how to do so:
• If you have installed the latest version of iOS on your phone, open the Settings app on your iPhone.
• Once you've opened the app, select the Screen Time option. If the option is off, turn it on.
• Next, scroll and select Content & Privacy Restriction. This option is located in the Screen Time menu. Ensure that it is switched on. This action turns it from gray to green.
• Once you've turned on this feature, choose 'Allowed Apps' and then scroll until you see the CarPlay option.
• From here, tap on the toggle button next to it to disable it. This action will turn the toggle button to gray, and CarPlay will not activate in any vehicle.
Alternatively, you can follow these steps:
• First, unlock your phone and ensure that CarPlay is connected.
• Next, scroll through your device's icons until you can see the settings app.
• Head over to General, then select CarPlay. From here, you will be able to see a list of cars that your device has connected to through CarPlay.
• Under the My Car section, choose the vehicle where you want CarPlay to be disabled.
• Finally, select Forget This Car. Once you've completed this step, you will be unable to use CarPlay with that car. In the future, if you connect the vehicle's USB port to your iPhone, a prompt will appear to enable CarPlay. When this happens, you can simply decline or ignore it.
