The target was Spanish Mackerel. We knew the afternoon low tide change would be better, but decided to make a day of it and tried the high change early on with no success. But returning to the same spot a few hours later paid off!
Fishing the last hour before low, I tried both live baits and dead baits. Normally the live bait would be the champion. Today was different! I recently had bought this lure called a Reaper Rig to troll dead baits, and it seemed to be the winner on the day.
