Mushrooms help you lower your sanity and fight shadow creatures. Use blue mushrooms to heal if you take a hit from them.
To access the top hat, hold down Alt and right-click.
Always wear armor to avoid being surprised, especially by shadows.
The Shadow Manipulator is built in the magic tab, and although it's a somewhat complicated structure to build, it's well worth it to speed up your Maxwell game.
Maxwell doesn't lose sanity when equipping the Dark Sword or Night Armor, and because of the high damage and high protection, he becomes a combat machine.
Reeds are used to make papyrus, which is one of the ingredients needed to make Night Armor. Living wood is one of the ingredients needed to make the Dark Sword.
